LHOTSKÁ, Karolina
The diploma thesis aims to define the rural landscape as a specific aesthetic object in comparison with a different type of landscape - the wilderness. The starting material is the theoretical perspective of one of the most important environmental aestheticians of today, Allen Carlson. The thesis first summarizes his process how we reach an appreciation of not only agricultural landscapes, and then it subsequently develops a history of the aesthetic appreciation of rural landscapes and wilderness. The thesis also expand the not very broad field of interest in the specifics of aesthetic appreciation of rural or agricultural landscapes in this country and thus contribute to functional landscape planning with regard to its aesthetic aspects.

To draw a comparison we used writings of another American aesthetician, Allen Carlson. In sphere of Berleant's theoretical aesthetics opinions it is not possible to omit concepts of aesthetical experience, value and social factor. These points are important ideas of aesthetics of engagement, which we would like to present. As useful for environmental aesthetics we also see Berleant evaluation of negative and positive aesthetics values. In case of Allen Carlson we use several models in the field of theoretical aesthetics. The author assessments the functionality of these models for environmental aesthetics. The last point of this dissertation is focusing on a certain type of environment, to architecture and "Disney World", respective. In this field we wanted to demonstrate how the Berleant works with certain type of environment. Allen Carlson chooses as certain type of environment American farms. Appreciation of Natural Beauty from the Point of View of Contemporary Aesthetic Theory.
CHEJN, Vilém
Annotation: My bachelor thesis is focused on the basic outline of ideas and concepts within the field of aesthetics of nature. It justifies the specificity of the aesthetic experience of nature. The work points out the distinction between art and nature while trying to highlight unifying feature of the aesthetic field (which is the variant of disinterested attitude as a detachement from ordinary interpretative frameworks) by comparing several concepts dealing with the aesthetic of nature. It also criticizes some of the concepts and tries to prove their certain one-sidedness. At the end it shows a possible way of future aesthetic considerations of the aesthetics of nature, which could be intrusion of nature and cultural frameworks.
